Chris Lindig

Biography

Oakland artist Chris Lindig, born in 1974, paints and draws an ongoing narrative of a strange world of “heavy metal organized crime hillbillies and terrorists on a rampage through America”. Lindig fills his paintings and drawings with drug lords, gurus, heavy metal freaks, subservient women, death and an outsider’s disdain for social conformity. He developed a unique style of combining heavy metal or gangster-like lettering with highly stylized, cryptic and darkly humorous scenarios. Chris Lindig has also designed numerous skateboard graphics and has been very active in the San Francisco graffiti community. Chris was interviewed on May 19, 2005 in Oakland CA.
