Alex Baker

Biography

Alex Baker is currently director of Fleisher/Ollman Gallery, Philadelphia, Before that, he was Senior Curator, Contemporary Art at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), Melbourne, Australia, 2008-2012. Formerly Curator of Contemporary Art at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and associate curator at the Institute of Contemporary Art, he has organized exhibitions with Beautiful Losers artists including Barry McGee, Chris Johanson, Margaret Kilgallen, Stephen Powers, and Todd James. Baker has a Ph.D. in visual anthropology from Temple University, Philadelphia. Alex Baker was interviewed July 8, 2005 in Philadelphia, PA.
